For a newly built private residence in Zwavelpoort, Pretoria, EcoSeal delivered a comprehensive waterproofing project, showcasing our expertise in addressing failed systems and restoring flat concrete roof slabs with advanced, durable solutions.

Roof Slab Assessment and Diagnosis: The client contacted EcoSeal to address persistent leaks on a recently constructed roof slab. Our inspection revealed that the existing eco-rubber compound waterproofing had completely failed, allowing water ingress. Inadequate drainage, particularly around a problematic full-bore outlet, further compounded the issue, risking structural and interior damage.

Remedial Action: Our team began by thoroughly cleaning the roof and stripping the failed eco-rubber compound. We verified screed levels to ensure proper water drainage and reshaped the problematic full-bore outlet to facilitate efficient flow. The exposed slab was treated with Penetrar primer to bind the surface and enhance adhesion. Movement cracks, full-bore outlets, and parapet walls were reinforced and sealed with the StretchSeal waterproofing system. Finally, we applied the ArmTec HyperFlex waterproofing system, featuring HydroSeal HF topcoat, to create a seamless, UV-stable, and weather-resistant membrane, ensuring long-term protection against South Africa’s harsh climate.
