1/ CONCRETE SLAB / BALCONY
If the area to be waterproofed is tiled it first needs to be stripped and rolled back to screed level. Once the tiles, tile glue and all loose debris have been removed the screed levels need to be checked to ensure the water is flowing freely to the outlets, if not the screed levels need to be corrected with new screed or SealPro PoSi Skim Filler.
2/ PRIMER/BINDER - PENETRAR
Coat the entire screed section of the slab area to be waterproofed with Penetrar. Penetrar binds dustiness, enhances the substrate and promotes adhesion for the waterproofing.
3/ MEMBRANE - ARMTEC MESH
The Armtec Mesh is an alkali-resistant glass fibre mesh used to reinforce waterproof protection layers, antifracture membranes and cementitious smoothing and levelling layers.
4/ ADHISION - BASE
Use BASE to embed the Armtec mesh into the surface of the concrete slab. BASE is a combination cementitious admixture emulsion and is used to achieve the required adhesion of the Armtec mesh to the concrete slab.
5/ FILLER - CAVITY FILLER
For a smoother finish, the entire surface can be coated with Cavity Filler before waterproofing is applied. Cavity Filler has extreme adhesion properties to most substrates like tiles, wood and metal, including bituminous systems like touch-on.
6-8/ WATERPROOFING - HYDROSEAL HF
Apply 3 to 4 layers of HydroSeal HF over the entire concrete roof slab. HydroSeal HF is a co-polymer, high-performance universal waterproofing membrane.
9/ FINAL COAT - DAMPEND
The final layer to be applied and make the waterproofing system tile read is DampEnd. DampEnd is a cementitious waterproof slurry that exhibits extreme adhesion to most substrates providing the perfect base to tile on. Once the final layer has cured the balcony can be retiled.
