ArmTec Mesh is a woven fibreglass reinforcing mesh treated with an alkali-resistant coating. It acts as a flexible structural skeleton within coating and mortar systems — absorbing substrate movement, bridging cracks and preventing the formation of micro-cracks in the layers above and below it. It is the structural backbone of the SealPro ArmTec HyperFlex Waterproofing System and is also used in plaster and concrete reinforcement, light steel frame construction, tiling applications and sports court resurfacing.

In the ArmTec HyperFlex Waterproofing System, roll out the ArmTec Mesh and cut it to size. Overlap each piece by a minimum of 5 cm. Apply HyperFlex directly over the mesh and press it down firmly to ensure complete penetration through the 5 × 5 mm mesh openings and full bonding to the substrate below. Allow the HyperFlex layer to dry completely before applying the first coat of HydroSeal HF. The mesh must be completely embedded — partial embedding reduces tensile performance and leaves the system vulnerable at overlap points.

pply an even layer of HyperFlex to the surface. While the product is still fresh, lay the ArmTec Mesh on the surface and press it gently with a trowel so it is completely embedded in the product layer. Allow to dry. If required, apply a second layer of the product over the embedded mesh. Once cured, the system can be plastered or covered with concrete.

Cementitious materials — concrete, mortar, screed and waterproofing membranes — are highly alkaline environments. Standard fibreglass mesh degrades rapidly when exposed to high pH, losing tensile strength and eventually disintegrating. ArmTec Mesh is treated with a special alkali-resistant coating that protects the fibreglass weave in these environments permanently — ensuring the reinforcement performs for the full service life of the system without deterioration.

Each piece of ArmTec Mesh must overlap the adjacent piece by a minimum of 5 cm. Insufficient overlap creates a gap in the reinforcement at the joint — a potential weak point where cracking can initiate under substrate movement. Always ensure the overlap is fully embedded in the product layer on both sides of the joint.

ArmTec Mesh is a rigid woven fibreglass mesh used to reinforce large surface areas — rolled out across the full substrate and embedded with HyperFlex. StretchSeal membrane is a flexible non-woven fabric used specifically to reinforce critical detail points — corners, turnups, flashings and movement joints — where maximum flexibility and elongation are required. In the ArmTec HyperFlex system, ArmTec Mesh covers the field area and StretchSeal membrane reinforces all the detail points. They are complementary products, not interchangeable.

Yes. ArmTec Mesh is a key component of the ArmTec HyperFlex Torch-On Renewal System — used to reinforce the new waterproofing membrane applied directly over existing torch-on, bitumen and previously sealed substrates. The mesh bridges old lap joints, failing overlaps and movement cracks in the existing system, creating a fully reinforced base for the HydroSeal HF waterproof topcoat above it.

ArmTec Mesh has an unlimited shelf life when stored in a clean, dry environment. The fibreglass and alkali-resistant coating do not degrade in storage. Keep rolls protected from direct sunlight and moisture — a dry, sheltered storage area is sufficient. There is no expiry date and no deterioration in performance over time.
