The surface must be clean and free from dust, grease, loose material and any debris. On concrete and cement substrates, apply Penetrar as a primer before anything else. On clean, rust-free metal surfaces, no primer is needed. The surface just needs to be clean.
CONCRETE AND CEMENT: Penetrar first.
CLEAN METAL: no primer needed.
FIRST COAT - Apply Flex evenly over the area to be reinforced. Don't let it skin over before the membrane goes on. The membrane needs a wet bed to press into. Work in manageable sections, especially in hot or windy conditions.
EMBED MEMBRANE - Lay the membrane into the wet Flex and press down firmly — work from the centre outward to remove air pockets. Full contact matters. Any section sitting on the surface rather than embedded in the product is a weak point waiting to fail.
OVERCOAT - Apply a second coat of Flex over the embedded membrane to fully encapsulate it. Allow to dry completely before the topcoat goes on. Flex must always be overcoated. It's never a standalone finish coat.
TOPCOAT - Once the Flex overcoat is dry, apply the topcoat for the system. On metal roofs this is HydroSeal HF or a compatible roof coating over Purple Prime. On concrete slabs the ArmTec HyperFlex system goes down above it. On balcony corners the HydroSeal HF topcoats follow as part of the full ArmTec system.
