Concrete slabs that were previously sealed or covered with torch-on waterproofing can be renewed with the Armtec Renew system. The slab surface must be smooth & free from debris. Delaminated sections of Torch-on membrane should be removed before waterproofing. Check levels and refill removed sections of Torch-on
membrane with SealPro’s PosiScreed to avoid ponding.
Use BASE to embed the Armtec Mesh into the surface or concrete slab. BASE is a combination admixture cementitious emulsion and is used to achieve the required adhesion to torchon or bitumen surfaces.
The Armtec Mesh is an alkali-resistant glass fibre mesh used to reinforce waterproof protection layers, antifracture membranes and cementitious smoothing and levelling layers.
For a smoother finish, the entire surface can be coated with Cavity Filler before waterproofing is applied. Cavity Filler has extreme adhesion properties to most substrates like tiles, wood and metal, including bituminous systems like touch-on.
Apply 3 to 4 layers of HydroSeal HF over the entire concrete roof slab. HydroSeal HF is a co-polymer, high-performance universal waterproofing membrane.
For highly trafficable areas it is advisable to do the 5th & final coat of waterproofing with HydroSeal, which will produce a harder finish than HF.

The Armtec Renew system was used to renew the torchon waterproofing system at a commercial client in Pretoria. The system was renewed with great success and the client was very pleased with the end result.
