BITUMEN SURFACE — CLEANED & PREPARED - All loose, delaminated and blistered bitumen material removed. The remaining surface must be sound and free from debris, ponding water and any contamination that would prevent adhesion.
PRIME - Applied over the cleaned bitumen surface before any other product is installed. UltraBond WP seals the bitumen — preventing wet or playable bitumen from off-gassing through the system above it, which would cause system failure and delamination. It also creates a stable cementitious bonding layer with extreme adhesion that the ArmTec system bonds to directly. Do not skip this step
REINFORCE - Fibreglass reinforcing mesh rolled out and shaped across the full surface — distributes stress, bridges surface irregularities and absorbs any ongoing movement in the substrate below.
BOND MESH TO SURFACE - Applied over the mesh and pressed firmly through to bond it directly to the UltraBond WP primed surface below — locking the reinforcing layer permanently in place.
WATERPROOF - 2 X COATS - First coat of seamless liquid rubber membrane applied across the entire system once touch dry and walkable. The final coat completes the seamless waterproof barrier — UV stable, fully bonded, available in 15 colours. Once cured, the roof is permanently waterproofed.
