Roof Slab Assessment and Diagnosis: The client contacted EcoSeal to address significant leaks in the parking garage roof section, where the existing waterproofing system had completely failed. Heavy rainfall exacerbated the issue, causing water ingress that threatened structural integrity and usability of the garage area. Our inspection confirmed widespread failure of the prior system, with vulnerabilities at movement joints and settlement cracks.

Remedial Action: After the client removed existing tiles, our team thoroughly cleaned the roof slab and verified screed levels to ensure proper drainage. We primed the surface with Penetrar to bind dust and enhance adhesion. Movement joints and settlement cracks were reinforced with the StretchSeal Flex waterproofing system to create a robust, flexible seal. The ArmTec HyperFlex waterproofing system was then applied, forming a seamless, UV-stable membrane to prevent leaks. To prepare the surface for retiling, we overcoated the system with DampEnd, a cementitious waterproof slurry, delivering a tile-ready finish with superior adhesion and durability, ensuring long-term protection against South Africa’s challenging weather conditions.
