PosiScreed is a polymer modified cementitious skim screed formulated with a Styrene Acrylic Co-Polymer Emulsion, selected aggregates and fibres. It is used as a floor screed on new and repaired surfaces, as a crack and concrete repair mortar for filling cracks and cavities, and as a skim plaster for walls and concrete surfaces. It is also used as the surface preparation product in the SealPro ArmTec HyperFlex waterproofing system.

PosiScreed is a two-part product. Part A is a 20 kg bag of cementitious dry mix (aggregates and fibres), and Part B is a 2 kg bucket of liquid primer (Styrene Acrylic Co-Polymer Emulsion). The two parts are combined and mixed at the specified ratio — 20 kg + 2 kg — to create PosiScreed. This is the complete product. Water is not part of the standard mix — if a more workable consistency is needed for a specific application, a small amount of water may be added, but the mix ratio must be maintained for optimal performance. Mix thoroughly to a smooth plaster consistency before application. The final finish must be completed while the product is still workable as PosiScreed cures to 30–40 MPa.

PosiScreed is applied by metal trowel at a thickness of 2–4 mm. This range makes it suitable for thin skim applications on walls and smooth concrete surfaces, as well as slightly thicker applications for floor screed repair and crack filling. For deeper repairs, build up in layers allowing each layer to partially set before applying the next.

Allow PosiScreed to stiffen for approximately 30–60 minutes after application before commencing floating. Use Repello during the floating phase to achieve the desired smooth finish. It is imperative that the final finish is reached while the product is still workable — PosiScreed cures to 30–40 MPa and cannot be reworked or floated once it has set.

PosiScreed is the surface preparation product used in ArmTec HyperFlex waterproofing installations. On new and existing concrete roof slabs, it fills cracks, cavities and uneven areas and is used to slope surfaces towards drainage outlets before Penetrar is applied and the system is installed above it. On existing tiled surfaces, it fills grout lines and tile cavities before UltraBond WP is applied as the tile adhesion primer. On torch-on renewal projects, it levels delaminated sections and fills damaged areas before the ArmTec HyperFlex system is installed.

Yes. PosiScreed is used to fill tile roof ridge cavities after loose and deteriorated concrete has been raked out — consolidating and repairing the tile roof ridge before the StretchSeal HF system is applied. Raking out the loose material first ensures PosiScreed bonds to a sound substrate, and once cured its 30–40 MPa hardness provides a stable base for the StretchSeal membrane and waterproof coating layers above it.

Ensure the base is clean and free of debris, excessive dust or powder and any objects that might cause non-adhesion to the substrate. Remove all loose material, oil, grease and any substances that could prevent PosiScreed from bonding. On very dusty or porous surfaces, applying SealPro Penetrar before PosiScreed will improve adhesion. The surface must be clean and structurally sound before application.

Yes. PosiScreed is used as a floor screed on new and repaired concrete floor surfaces — levelling uneven areas, filling surface defects and creating a smooth, even substrate before tiling or the application of floor coatings and waterproofing systems. It cures to 30–40 MPa, making it sufficiently hard for tile adhesive to bond to and for surfaces subject to foot traffic. Always apply SealPro Penetrar to the screed surface before applying tile adhesive or waterproofing systems above it.

PosiScreed is a polymer modified product — the Styrene Acrylic Co-Polymer Emulsion binder in the formulation significantly improves adhesion to the existing substrate compared to standard sand-cement mixes, which rely only on mechanical bond. The fibre content also reduces shrinkage cracking during cure. The result is a repair and screed product that bonds better, shrinks less and is more durable under movement than standard cement mortars.
