PosiScreed is a polymer-modified cementitious repair & skim compound formulated in conjunction with a Styrene Acrylic Co-Polymer Emulsion — consisting of selected aggregates and fibres. It has been developed as a skim plaster that cures to a hard, durable surface finish of 30–40 MPa.

PosiScreed is a two-part product — Part A is a 20 kg bag of cementitious dry mix consisting of selected aggregates and fibres, and Part B is a 2 kg bucket of liquid primer which is the Styrene Acrylic Co-Polymer Emulsion. The two parts are mixed together at the specified ratio to create PosiScreed.

If a more workable consistency is required for a specific application, a small amount of water may be added — but the 20 kg + 2 kg mix ratio must be maintained for optimal performance. Applied by metal trowel to a thickness of 2–4 mm, PosiScreed is then floated to a smooth, even finish using Repello during the workable phase.

PosiScreed serves three distinct roles — as a floor screed for new and repaired surfaces, as a crack and concrete repair mortar for filling cracks and surface defects, and as a skim plaster for achieving a smooth cementitious finish on walls and concrete surfaces.

Usage

Thin Floor Screed

Used where a thin floor screed is required and conventional screed will not perform. High cure strength of 30–40 MPa allows application at thicknesses where standard sand-cement would fail.

Crack Repair & Cavity Filler

Fills cracks, cavities and surface defects in concrete and screed. Also used as a grout line and cavity filler in the preparation stage of the ArmTec HyperFlex over-tile waterproofing and retiling system.

Tile Roof Ridge Cavity Repair

Fills tile roof ridge cavities after loose concrete has been raked out — repairing and consolidating the ridge in preparation for the StretchSeal HF system.

Skim Plaster

Creates a smooth cementitious skim plaster finish on walls and concrete surfaces — resembles a professional plaster finish.

Important

It is imperative that the final finish is reached while the product is still workable. PosiScreed cures to 30–40 MPa — once it sets, it cannot be reworked or floated. Work in manageable sections and always use Repello during the floating phase to achieve the desired finish.

Product Overview

THE CEMENTITIOUS SKIM THAT PREPARES ANY SURFACE FOR WHAT COMES NEXT.

PosiScreed is not a single-purpose product. On a flat concrete roof slab, it fills and levels every cavity and grout line before the ArmTec HyperFlex waterproofing system goes down. On a screed floor, it repairs and restores the surface before tiling. On a wall or concrete surface, it delivers the smooth, flat cementitious finish that paints, coatings and plasters require.

The Styrene Acrylic Co-Polymer Emulsion in the formulation gives PosiScreed significantly better adhesion, flexibility and durability than standard cement repair mortars — it bonds tightly to the existing substrate, resists cracking under movement and cures to a hard, trafficable surface of 30–40 MPa.

In the SealPro waterproofing range, PosiScreed is the preparation product that bridges the gap between the existing surface and the waterproofing system above it — used on torch-on renewal projects to level delaminated sections, on new concrete slabs to slope surfaces towards drainage outlets, and on over-tile systems to fill grout lines before UltraBond WP is applied.

PosiScreed - cementitious repair & skim compound

Application tip:

Use Repello during the floating phase to achieve the desired smooth finish. Allow the product to stiffen for 30–60 minutes after application before commencing floating. Mix Part A (20 kg cementitious dry mix) with Part B (2 kg liquid primer) at the specified ratio — this is the complete product. If a more workable consistency is required, a small amount of water may be added, but the mix ratio must be maintained for optimal performance. Coverage is 3–4 m² per kit at 2–4 mm thickness. The final finish must be completed while the product is still workable.

KEY BENEFITS

STRONG. WORKABLE. VERSATILE.

PosiScreed combines the durability of a high-strength cementitious product with the workability of a skim plaster — making it the go-to surface preparation product for any construction or repair project.

PosiScreed - cementitious repair, skim compound

1/ Thin Screed Where Conventional Screed Fails

High cure strength of 30–40 MPa means PosiScreed can be applied at thicknesses where standard sand-cement screed would crack or fail — the ideal solution wherever a thin floor screed is required.

2/ High-Strength Cure at 30–40 MPa

Cures to a hard, trafficable surface suitable for foot traffic, tiling and application of waterproofing membranes above it.

3/ Polymer Modified for Superior Adhesion

The Styrene Acrylic Co-Polymer Emulsion binder dramatically improves adhesion to the substrate — significantly reducing delamination risk versus standard sand-cement mixes.

4/ Fibre Reinforced — Crack Resistant

Aggregate and fibre formulation resists shrinkage cracking during cure and improves surface durability under thermal movement and structural loads.

5/ Smooth Trowel Finish

Applied and floated to a smooth cementitious skim finish that closely resembles a professional plaster — compatible with paints, coatings, tile adhesives and waterproofing systems.

6/ Three Applications. One Product.

Floor screed, crack and concrete repair, skim plaster — reduces materials on site and provides a consistent, familiar application method across all three uses.

GETTING STARTED

COLOUR & APPLICATION

STANDARD COLOURS

This product is Grey-Green in colour.

PosiScreed cures to a natural cement grey-green finish — the exact shade varies slightly with mix water content and substrate conditions. The cured surface is directly compatible with tile adhesives, waterproofing membranes, primers and paint systems — no additional priming required before the next product is applied.

(*) Disclaimer

While SealPro makes every effort to ensure that colours shown on this website, match paint colours as closely as possible, variations may occur due to a variety of factors. Always paint a test patch of the selected colour on your wall. For consistency of sheen and colour, always check that paint containers carry the same batch number.

APPLICATION

Apply at 2–4 mm by metal trowel. Coverage: 3–4 m² per kit. Touch dry in 30–60 minutes at ±25°C.

Where PosiScreed Is Used

REAL-WORLD APPLICATIONS.

PosiScreed is used at the preparation stage of almost every SealPro waterproofing and coating project — and as a standalone screed, repair and skim plaster product across construction and renovation work.

Thin Floor Screed Where Conventional Screed Will Not Work

Used in sections where a thin floor screed is required and conventional sand-cement screed is not viable. Because PosiScreed cures to 30–40 MPa, it can be applied at thicknesses where standard screed would crack or fail — making it the go-to solution for thin screed applications on floors and balconies.

Crack Repair, Cavity Filling & Tile Grout Line Filler

Used to fill settlement cracks, cavities and surface defects on concrete slabs and floors. Also used as a tile grout line and cavity filler in the preparation stage of the ArmTec HyperFlex over-tile waterproofing system — filling the original tile grout lines before UltraBond WP is applied and the waterproofing system is installed above.

Skim Plaster Finish on Walls & Concrete

Applied as a skim plaster on interior and exterior walls and concrete surfaces — achieving a smooth, flat cementitious finish that closely resembles a professional plaster. Suitable as a substrate for paint, texture coatings and wall systems.

Surface Preparation Before Waterproofing

Used in the ArmTec HyperFlex system to fill grout lines on existing tiled surfaces, level delaminated sections on torch-on roofs and correct surface levels to drainage outlets before the waterproofing system is installed above it.

Roof Ridge Cavity Repair Before StretchSeal HF System

PosiScreed is used to fill the cavities of roof ridges after loose concrete has been raked out — repairing and consolidating the ridge before the StretchSeal HF system is installed. This ensures a sound, even substrate for the reinforcing membrane and waterproof coating layers above.

Slope Correction to Drainage Outlets

Used to build up and shape surfaces on flat concrete roof slabs and balconies — correcting falls and sloping surfaces towards drainage outlets before the waterproofing membrane is applied. Eliminates ponding water on flat surfaces.

TIPS & ADVICE

Common Questions About PosiScreed.

PosiScreed is a polymer modified cementitious skim screed formulated with a Styrene Acrylic Co-Polymer Emulsion, selected aggregates and fibres. It is used as a floor screed on new and repaired surfaces, as a crack and concrete repair mortar for filling cracks and cavities, and as a skim plaster for walls and concrete surfaces. It is also used as the surface preparation product in the SealPro ArmTec HyperFlex waterproofing system.

Surface Preparation Before tiling- PosiScreed

PosiScreed is a two-part product. Part A is a 20 kg bag of cementitious dry mix (aggregates and fibres), and Part B is a 2 kg bucket of liquid primer (Styrene Acrylic Co-Polymer Emulsion). The two parts are combined and mixed at the specified ratio — 20 kg + 2 kg — to create PosiScreed. This is the complete product. Water is not part of the standard mix — if a more workable consistency is needed for a specific application, a small amount of water may be added, but the mix ratio must be maintained for optimal performance. Mix thoroughly to a smooth plaster consistency before application. The final finish must be completed while the product is still workable as PosiScreed cures to 30–40 MPa.

PosiScreed is applied by metal trowel at a thickness of 2–4 mm. This range makes it suitable for thin skim applications on walls and smooth concrete surfaces, as well as slightly thicker applications for floor screed repair and crack filling. For deeper repairs, build up in layers allowing each layer to partially set before applying the next.

Allow PosiScreed to stiffen for approximately 30–60 minutes after application before commencing floating. Use Repello during the floating phase to achieve the desired smooth finish. It is imperative that the final finish is reached while the product is still workable — PosiScreed cures to 30–40 MPa and cannot be reworked or floated once it has set.

PosiScreed is the surface preparation product used in ArmTec HyperFlex waterproofing installations. On new and existing concrete roof slabs, it fills cracks, cavities and uneven areas and is used to slope surfaces towards drainage outlets before Penetrar is applied and the system is installed above it. On existing tiled surfaces, it fills grout lines and tile cavities before UltraBond WP is applied as the tile adhesion primer. On torch-on renewal projects, it levels delaminated sections and fills damaged areas before the ArmTec HyperFlex system is installed.

Yes. PosiScreed is used to fill tile roof ridge cavities after loose and deteriorated concrete has been raked out — consolidating and repairing the tile roof ridge before the StretchSeal HF system is applied. Raking out the loose material first ensures PosiScreed bonds to a sound substrate, and once cured its 30–40 MPa hardness provides a stable base for the StretchSeal membrane and waterproof coating layers above it.

Ensure the base is clean and free of debris, excessive dust or powder and any objects that might cause non-adhesion to the substrate. Remove all loose material, oil, grease and any substances that could prevent PosiScreed from bonding. On very dusty or porous surfaces, applying SealPro Penetrar before PosiScreed will improve adhesion. The surface must be clean and structurally sound before application.

Yes. PosiScreed is used as a floor screed on new and repaired concrete floor surfaces — levelling uneven areas, filling surface defects and creating a smooth, even substrate before tiling or the application of floor coatings and waterproofing systems. It cures to 30–40 MPa, making it sufficiently hard for tile adhesive to bond to and for surfaces subject to foot traffic. Always apply SealPro Penetrar to the screed surface before applying tile adhesive or waterproofing systems above it.

PosiScreed is a polymer modified product — the Styrene Acrylic Co-Polymer Emulsion binder in the formulation significantly improves adhesion to the existing substrate compared to standard sand-cement mixes, which rely only on mechanical bond. The fibre content also reduces shrinkage cracking during cure. The result is a repair and screed product that bonds better, shrinks less and is more durable under movement than standard cement mortars.
